How We Help
Free Pregnancy Testing
We offer medical grade pregnancy tests. When you need to know for sure, we’re here for you. Quick and confidential tests provided by people who listen, care, and will be there for you no matter what.
Educational Classes
Our "Mom & Me" or "Dad & Me" classes offer prenatal and parenting education through various DVD lessons. Topics include: Baby development through each trimester, nutrition, labor and delivery, breastfeeding, safe sleeping*, carseat safety*, quality childcare, and potty training techniques. Clients get to choose a gift for baby after each lesson attended.
*Classes on safe sleep and carseat safety are required before receiving a baby bed or carseat from Alpha Center.
Unplanned Pregnancy Support
Our advocates will listen openly to your pregnancy and parenting concerns, and help guide you through this emotional time. We provide support through education, material items, mentoring, and connecting with other community agencies. We can assist with adoption information and post-abortion grief counseling. Alpha Center offers fact-based medical information on abortion procedures. Did you know the abortion pill may be reversible?
OUR GOAL
Alpha Center is a pregnancy support service offering alternatives to abortion. Our primary mission is to be an advocate for the pregnant women of Escambia County and the surrounding areas dealing with a difficult pregnancy through a multitude of free services, including educational information, mentoring, and community referrals.
OUR MISSION
Our secondary mission is to create and maintain in the area an awareness of the needs of the pregnant women, and aggressively promote the need for earlier prenatal care and follow-through until the mother feels secure with taking care of the baby.
